Receiving Answers To Prayers

In Moroni 10:3-4 It explains that effective prayer takes great effort on our part. When we begin our prayers we need to think about who we are talking to.We need to ponder the things that we want to say.We are talking to our Heavenly Father and he deserves respect and reverence as we pray.It also explains in these verses that we need to pray in faith.William Cowper declared that Satan trembels when he sees the weakest Saint on his knees
and we never stand taller than when on our kness.

We also need to realizethat prayer is a two way communication. We are prayeing to our Heavenly Father and he will answer if we give himthe chance and take time to ponder and listen.President Gordon B.Hinkley said that the trouble with most of our prayers is that we give them as if we are picking up the phone and ordering groceries we place the order and hang up.We need to meditate, contemplate, think of what we are praying about and for,and then speak as one man speaketh with another.

This is how we begin to recognize and feel the promptings of the spirit,as we do our part in our prayers and really look for those answers we will find them.We need to work to accomplish our prayers. It has been said that we need to pray as everything depended on the Lord and work as if everything depended on us.I know as we do this we will feel the hand of the Lord in our lives and will recognize those answers to our prayers.
